What the rules cover, and how exhibitors set it up.

What the documents say

Smart City’s Exhibitor Ordering Guide says a personal hotspot will work in the building. Its Wireless Performance Agreement says “Wireless Devices not authorized by Smart City are strictly prohibited” and doesn’t mention cellular gateways.

Set it up wired

Switch MR·NET’s Wi-Fi off and plug laptops, POS terminals and screens into its four Ethernet ports. You add no Wi-Fi or access point to the hall and never touch Smart City’s network.

Federal law protects you

The FCC says no convention center or its network operator may block or disrupt personal Wi-Fi hot spots, and jamming Wi-Fi or cellular signals is illegal.

Questions exhibitors ask
About the Anaheim Convention Center.

Who provides internet at the Anaheim Convention Center?

Smart City Networks. Smart City calls itself “the exclusive technology and internet services provider for the Anaheim Convention Center,” and the venue's Policies, Rules and Regulations (rev. 12/2025) say “Cable pulling is exclusive to Smart City Networks as well.” Exhibitors order at orders.smartcitynetworks.com or by calling 888-446-6911, and Smart City says floor plans are required for all exhibitor orders.

How much does internet cost at the Anaheim Convention Center?

At the incentive rate, Smart City's Exhibitor Ordering Guide (October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026) lists shared Light Wired at $795 and dedicated lines from $3,495 for 6 Mbps to $19,250 for 25 Mbps. Smart City's 2026 to 2027 order form lists 25 Mbps at $15,500 and estimates 15% for taxes and fees. Standard and Premium Hotspots run $2,339 to $39,050.

When should I order internet at the Anaheim Convention Center?

Order with payment 14 days before the first day of move-in to get Smart City's incentive rate. After that deadline, base rates apply. Smart City's Terms say orders placed onsite or after move-in has started cost the base price plus an additional 20%. Send a complete floor plan 5 days before move-in to avoid additional charges.

Can I bring my own internet to the Anaheim Convention Center?

Yes. MR·NET customers have deployed at the Anaheim Convention Center, and Smart City's Exhibitor Ordering Guide says a personal hotspot will work in the building. Smart City's Wireless Performance Agreement, which describes its 802.11 network, says “Wireless Devices not authorized by Smart City are strictly prohibited” and doesn't mention cellular gateways. Run MR·NET with its Wi-Fi off and devices on Ethernet, adding no Wi-Fi to the hall.

Can the venue block or jam my hotspot or cellular gateway?

No. The FCC's Enforcement Bureau says no convention center or network operator providing service there may intentionally block or disrupt personal Wi-Fi hot spots, and federal law prohibits jamming Wi-Fi or cellular signals. The FCC has fined a convention center internet provider $750,000 and a hotel operator $600,000 for blocking hotspots. If you suspect blocking, file a complaint at fcc.gov/complaints. This is not legal advice.

Is there cellular coverage inside the Anaheim Convention Center?

Neither the venue nor Smart City publishes a cellular coverage or in-building DAS statement for the Anaheim Convention Center. Smart City's guide says hotspot service “may be disrupted or become unreliable due to user density and demand on the carrier's network.” MR·NET bonds Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, so your booth doesn't rely on any single one.

How do I order venue internet at the Anaheim Convention Center?

Use Smart City's current Anaheim forms at orders.smartcitynetworks.com/orderforms, or call 888-446-6911 or email customerservice@smartcity.com. The local Anaheim team is at 714-765-8600 or anaheim@smartcity.com. Include a complete floor plan; Smart City requires one for all exhibitor orders. Visit Anaheim still links an expired 2024 to 2025 form, so use the current one.
