Bring MR·NET to the GWCC
Deployed here by our customers.
What the rules cover, and how exhibitors set it up.
What the rule covers
CCLD’s GWCC order form allows your own router on its shared wired service. Its item 18 forbids “outside proxy servers, routers, or any machine used to propagate a single I.P. address to multiply devices.” Neither mentions cellular gateways.
Set it up wired
Switch MR·NET’s Wi-Fi off and plug laptops, screens and other booth devices into its four Ethernet ports. You add no Wi-Fi (802.11) to the hall and never touch CCLD’s network. CCLD’s own form recommends wired for mission critical use.
Federal law protects you
The FCC says no convention center or its network operator may block or disrupt personal Wi-Fi hot spots, and jamming Wi-Fi or cellular signals is illegal.
What you’d save at the GWCC
Own it once, use it at every show.
Compared with a 10 Mbps dedicated line at the GWCC at the incentive rate ($9,995, CCLD order form, undated). Data: 25 GB a show day (our customers use 10 to 40 GB) for a 3-day show at $8/GB. Excludes shipping and tax.
Before the show
Five things to do.
Need a venue line too? Order and pay 21 calendar days before the show opens.
Later orders lose the incentive rate. Base rates are higher: $10,595 for 10 Mbps.
Pack a switch and Ethernet cables for your booth devices.
Run MR·NET with Wi-Fi off and test it at your office first.
Special arrangements are due 30 days before move-in; custom or fiber orders, 60.
Questions exhibitors ask
About the Georgia World Congress Center.
Who provides internet at the Georgia World Congress Center?
CCLD Networks. The GWCC Services and Partners page names it “the exclusive internet and telephone provider for the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.” CCLD's GWCC order form lists Wi-Fi in booth, shared wired, dedicated lines from 3 to 30 Mbps, hubs, cables, labor and phone lines. Questions go to CCLD at 404.222.5500 or info@ccld.net.
How much does internet cost at the Georgia World Congress Center?
CCLD's undated GWCC order form lists per-event incentive prices of $300 per Wi-Fi user, $1,195 for shared wired with one IP address plus $145 per added device, and $3,995 to $21,995 for 3 to 30 Mbps dedicated lines. “Prices cover service for the entire event,” move-in through move-out. Base rates are higher, and totals add 8.9% sales tax and a 3.5% credit card fee.
When should I order internet at the Georgia World Congress Center?
CCLD's incentive rates apply to orders received with payment 21 calendar days before the first open show date. The form prints higher base rates but no on-site price. Special arrangements must reach CCLD 30 days before move-in, and custom or fiber orders 60 days. Cancelling before move-in costs a $55.00 process charge per service; after that, there is no credit.
Can I bring my own internet to the Georgia World Congress Center?
Yes. MR·NET customers have deployed at the GWCC. CCLD's service terms on its GWCC order form forbid outside routers and any machine sharing one IP address across devices (item 18) and require users of 802.11 wireless hardware to contact CCLD to coordinate frequency usage (item 17). They don't mention cellular gateways. Run MR·NET with its Wi-Fi off and your devices on Ethernet, so you add no Wi-Fi to the hall.
Can the venue block or jam my hotspot or cellular gateway?
No. The FCC's Enforcement Bureau says no convention center or network operator providing service there may intentionally block or disrupt personal Wi-Fi hot spots, and federal law prohibits jamming Wi-Fi or cellular signals. The FCC has fined a convention center internet provider $750,000 and a hotel operator $600,000 for blocking hotspots. If you suspect blocking, file a complaint at fcc.gov/complaints. This is not legal advice.
Is there cellular coverage inside the Georgia World Congress Center?
We found no cellular coverage or distributed antenna system statement for the Georgia World Congress Center's exhibit halls in the GWCC FAQ, Event Planning Guide, 7-15-2026 floor plan booklet or CCLD's website. The booklet mentions only “wi-fi throughout.” MR·NET bonds Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, so your booth doesn't rely on any single one.
How do I order venue internet at the Georgia World Congress Center?
Use CCLD's GWCC “Telecommunications & Network Services Order” form, linked from ccld.net/internet-services, or order online through ccld.net. Questions go to 404.222.5500 or info@ccld.net. For incentive rates, CCLD must receive the order with payment 21 calendar days before the first open show date. On shared wired, each extra device needs an Additional Device/IP Address, $145 at the incentive rate.
